I thought this was a joke. But, no, these people really do have a website selling a variety of breast cancer related items (T-shirts, bumper stickers, and breast-check "lube" among other tacky things).
Apparently, breast cancer is about tits (or ta-tas as they call them) rather than about people. Poking fun at it is fine as long as you give 25% to research.
I'm not linking these people because they've managed to take a good cause and find a way to exploit it for monetary gain while trivializing a major health epidemic.
I'll also think twice the next time someone on Facebook asks me to post something about my bra color or to post a double entendre about where I keep my purse to raise "awareness" for breast cancer. I've decided I like my breast cancer awareness campaigns non sexualized and non commercialized.
If you'd really like to do something to help, make a donation. Every thirteen minutes a woman dies of breast cancer in the US. All of us know someone who has been, is, or will be affected. Click on the links below to help.
